New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday defended the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government against allegations of a paper leak, asserting that no examination paper had been leaked in the state.
Kejriwal claimed that the AAP government had transformed Punjab’s education sector, saying the state had risen from 27th position to the top rank in the field of education. He alleged that the BJP was attempting to tarnish this achievement for political reasons.
He further said that during the AAP’s 10 years in power in Delhi and its tenure in Punjab, not a single paper leak had occurred. In contrast, he alleged that paper leak incidents had repeatedly taken place in states governed by the BJP, claiming that the ruling party was trying to divert attention from its own failures.
Responding to the allegations regarding the recent examination, Kejriwal said that a group of 10 to 12 students had entered the examination centre carrying smart pens and allegedly attempted to scan and transmit the question paper outside. However, he said the students were caught immediately, preventing any leak of the examination paper.
Kejriwal maintained that no paper leak took place in Punjab and described the allegations against the state government as false and politically motivated.
